Wisconsin Oven designed and manufactured a gas fired industrial batch oven with a powered load car to cure resin on motors and transformers for L&S Electric. The curing oven has chamber dimensions of 12’0” wide x 16’0” long x 14’0” high and a maximum operating temperature of 500º F. The batch oven was designed with the capacity to heat 30,000 pounds of steel, copper, and resin combination from 70° to 350° F within three (3) hours when the oven is preheated. A 60,000 pound load will heat from 70° to 350° F within five (5) hours. The powered load car has a load capacity of 60,000 pounds and minimizes the amount of product handling by equipment operators.

The drawer batch oven is constructed with 4” thick tongue and groove panel assemblies and 20 gauge aluminized steel interiors and ductwork. One (1) vertical lift, pneumatically operated door is located at the front of the oven and saves on floor space. The heating system features a 2,000,000 BTU per hour air heat burner including a motorized gas control valve, flame detector and flame relay with alarm horn. The recirculation system has two (2) 18,500 CFM @ 20 HP blowers, and utilizes combination airflow to maximize heating rates and temperature uniformity.

The curing oven has a UL certified NEMA 12 control enclosure with IEC style motor starters, push buttons, and pilot lights. The temperature for the drawer batch oven is controlled by a Eurotherm Nanodac digital touch screen controller/recorder with 50 MB of flash memory and Ethernet communication capabilities. A six (6) position type “J” thermocouple jack panel was mounted on the inside wall of the batch oven with interconnecting wiring between the jack panel and monitoring system. An automated process timer begins when three part thermocouples reach their target temperature.
