Wisconsin Oven designed and manufactured a gas fired three lane oven with an indexing cart drive system for curing coatings on various parts for wind turbines. The parts are a mix of steel and alloy with the largest weighing 300lbs. The industrial oven has a production rate of 40 carts per hour. The customer required a 25-point temperature uniformity of +/-15° F at 140° F.

The oven chamber is 10’5” wide x 41’3” long x 12’7” high. The maximum temperature rating is 300° F with a normal operating temperature of 140° F. The indexing oven uses a three lane indexing cart conveyance system that includes a floor mounted chain drive system. Seventy (70) non-powered carts rated at a 500lb maximum were also supplied with the oven. A flash-off section utilizing a tube axial blower removes solvents that are released during the curing process.  The recirculation system utilizes adjustable louvers, direct drive blowers and a combination airflow design to maximize heating rates and temperature uniformity of the product.

The UL labeled and certified NEMA 12 control enclosure includes IEC style motor starters, push buttons, and pilot lights. The Wisconsin Oven Paragon Processor PLC System was included with the indexing oven. This system utilizes an Allen-Bradley Micrologix 1100 PLC with touch screen controls and a Eurotherm 3216 temperature controller. The system provides the recipe programming (up to 20 programs), and Ethernet communication capability.
