CFD Analysis and Testing
Wisconsin Oven utilizes the latest in computational fluid dynamics (CFD) analysis to design our equipment. This allows us to optimize airflow, heat transfer, and overall oven performance. In addition, we have full test capabilities to test parts for heating and cooling in our ovens. Below are a few examples of how CFD can be used in the design of new equipment.
CFD is ideal for optimizing the duct design inside an oven. In the image below it is used to calculate the expected velocity of the air at each location, and identifies constrictions or turbulent flow. Issues can then be corrected in the design phase of manufacture.
In the image below, CFD is used to simulate the airflow around parts inside an oven, such as this section of a manned space vehicle. This helps decide what style of airflow to use to insure even heating of the product.
